Lee Collins Anderson (b. 2004) is a composer and euphonium player. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, his love of classical music began with an early fascination, later realizing itself fully through his experiences in band throughout grade school. During that time, he gained musical experience through performing with his school district and various honor bands, taking piano lessons, and composing — eventually leading to the premiere of two band works at the end of his time in high school. He is currently studying at the Florida State University College of Music under Dr. Clifton Callender.

Shimmer Chaser (2025)

“The name for this piece originates from its chaotic nature and its treatment of its simple main motif, a sequence of four notes. This motif is developed by widening its intervals and employing stretto, distorting the theme as if it were viewed through a light-bending medium, such as a body of water or a magnifying glass.”
– Program note, written 2025.
Recorded in its concert premiere, November 16th, 2025, by Jack Blumer, Steven Waterston, Kaiden Klingler, and Ashton Stewart.

The Old Piano Book (2025)

“The materials within this collection of short piano pieces originate from some of my earliest surviving work, the earliest of which dates back to 2018. I wanted to give these early pieces new life using all of the experience and knowledge gained since then.”
– Program note, written 2025.
Recorded in its concert premiere by pianist Daniel Farias, October 3rd, 2025.
